Well, neither Jaine nor I have posted in a while. Don't worry though, we haven't completely fallen off the face of the Earth. Both of us have been pretty busy with school/life/work. Hopefully after winter break we will have new items posted on our etsy...maybe even some of which are screen printed!
Also as this is our craft blog I believe that it is important for all of our dedicated readers (harhar) to know that last week I super glued my fingers together. It was awful! Luckily, there was plenty of acetone in the print studio.

First Friday went really well! We sold almost half of our stuff, and we were able to donate almost 100 dollars to the Greensboro Animal Rescue and Foster Program.
AND!!! We were interviewed for the Carolinian.
But, thats not all! Someone from Sisters (a local shop in greensboro) told us that they were looking to carry more local/handmade items. Then she asked us how we would price if we were to sell in bulk, and that if the owner was intrested then they might want to carry our pins! EEK!

SO MUCH TO DO & Janie's Thoughts on Packaging
The First Friday Indie Market that Boy Killaz is participating in is coming up this week!
Morgan and I have been making things non-stop, we are gonna take some pictures soon, so be ready for that!
Also, I just want to say that it is really frustrating to order something off of Etsy and the seller literally just sends you the item in an envelope.
Etsy is a site for selling handmade items, items that are PERSONALLY made and should have some PERSONALITY to them. If you don't care about what you make, then don't sell it!
And don't send it to me without a thank you not, some kind of cool packaging, or stickers or something!
I'm not saying you have to go all out when you send something in the mail, but a thank you note is nice.
We always make our own boxes or padded envelopes to send our things in, and no matter what we write a thank you note to let the buyer know we really do appreciate them helping out our store.
I think that is really important--let your buyers know you like them, ok?

Janie and I have set up our etsy account!
and if you havent heard me talk about BOYKILLAZ or why we created the etsy, well then listen up. Janie and i LOVE to craft, but you can only make so many different things for yourself or to give away. so we decided to make an etsy to sale our wares. When we started to plan out how we were going to run the etsy we realized that neither of us wanted to actually make money off of the products we made. We just wanted to be creative and make stuff, so we decided to put our crafty skills to good use by listing the products at a low price, and sending all of the profits to different local and non local organizations.
We are going to continually sponsor animals at Greensboro Animal Rescue and Foster Program, and then pick one additional organization with a set goal in mind. For our first additional organization, we choose Stand Proud. Stand Proud helps educate and mobilize children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, by helping them with treatment for polio ad well as fit them with orthopedic devices. They also ensure that they will have the opportunity to attend school.
SOOO BUY BOYKILLAZ PRODUCTS and if your totally broke TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO BUY BOYKILLAZ PRODUCTS!
